Current Development Projects

Urban Village, Mamhilad

This important development is the flagship of Johnsey Estates’ current development portfolio, as the site is allocated in the Local Development Plan as part of a new residential development for up to 1,700 homes. The project will retain existing employment uses, to which will be added a range of retail and neighbourhood facilities, including a new Primary School, in order to create a self-contained community, set against the backdrop of the foothills to the Brecon Beacons.

An outline Planning Application was submitted in June 2017, with the intention of bringing forward this major residential development element at the earliest opportunity.

Westgate, Abergavenny

Work is now complete on this prominent and strategically located mixed use development on the outskirts of Abergavenny. A significant investment has been made infrastructure works to enable the release of land for 48 new homes, the construction of a Premier Inn Hotel, a public house, Costa Coffee drive-through, McDonalds restaurant and care home facility. 

Further land remains available for complementary uses.

Castle Oaks, Usk

Following the success of the initial phases, sold to Barratt Homes, Johnsey Estates retains 21 acres (8.05 hectares), which will be promoted for further residential development.

Coopers Filters, Abergavenny

Johnsey Estates sold the last remaining phase of their highly successful Coopers Filters site in 2014, and the last homes developed at the end of 2016.

Johnsey Estates retains an adjoining parcel of land amounting to 5.18 acres (2.09 hectares) as a strategic land holding, which will be promoted for further residential development. 

Leeway, Newport

Johnsey Estates has a long and successful track record of development in Newport, having built the Newport Retail and Leisure Park.

Johnsey Estates retains ownership of a cleared site of 0.45 acres (0.186 acres), on the successful Leeway Industrial Estate, which will be promoted for development in due course.
